PROMO 5-Box PT / INR Coagulation System Kit

Coag-Sense is now offering a special Promo Kit that includes 5 boxes of Test Strips for $1,209.33. That's a savings of $436!

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, accounting for 1 in every 4 deaths in the United States a year. With two million new people starting the blood thinner Coumadin (a warfarin drug) a year to prevent clots associated with heart attack as well as stroke, the need for a way to regulate dose has never been in more demand. Enter the next development in point-of-care PT/INR Monitoring: Coag-Sense.

In order to accurately adjust a warfarin-type oral anticoagulant, the periodic measurement of the blood clotting time with a Prothrombin Time (PT) test is recommended. Coag-Sense is the first point-of-care system to measure PT/International Normalized Ratio (INR) using Direct Clot Detection Technology. The PT/INR Monitoring System is an in vitro diagnostic device that provides accurate results in less than one minute using a portable meter that requires only a small sample size of blood (10 ul minimum) for easy testing.

The stable, tabletop meter holds memory of the past 100 tests and requires no calibration chip or code input when inserting the one-time use test strips. The single-use strip can be stored at room temperature. Included with every Test Strip Kit are two High and two Low Control Strips, to be used with each new lot of test strips. A Control Strip Kit is also available for purchase. The Coagulation Monitoring process is CLIA-waived, ensuring the highest possible medical quality control.

To test, simply place the disposable strip into the meter. A two minute timer will begin while the test strip warms to the optimal operating temperature, during which time the patient must prick their finger with a lancet. Using the minipipette, retrieve at least 10 ul of blood and transfer it to the waiting strip within the meter. The strip contains a tiny wheel with spokes that pull the sample into the reaction well allowing the meter to determine the clotting time, which is done as the clot interrupts a beam of light. Sample quantities of required materials, such as lancets, are included with each kit. See ACCESSORIES for additional supply quantities.

The Professional Testing System is intended for use by health care professionals at the point of care to monitor their patients on warfarin-type anticoagulation therapy. This device is not intended to be used for screening purposes. By monitoring the time it takes the blood sample to coagulate, the efficacy of the warfarin dose can be optimized. The meter is powered by 4-AA batteries or by the AC Adapter, included in the kit.
